Hi

Hi guys,

I’m sorry I still haven’t made sure to write a real post. I’ll try to get one up tomorrow, but I can’t promise anything.

Since my last update I’ve uploaded a few more videos to my youtube channel, and I’ve even gained 10 subscribers! It may not sound like much, but to me that’s a lot and I’m super happy.

Here’s my latest video. Please watch it and make sure to give me feedback. If you don’t like it I’m okay with that but please tell me what exactly you didn’t like so I can get better. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Quick Update

Hi, guys. I’m genuinely sorry for being so bad at updating. It’s been a whole 4 months! I will try to get back into the swing of things, now with the new year and all.

Also, I just started my own youtube channel. If you want to it would make me so, so happy if you would subscribe. I’ll try to insert a video down below:

I know I have the worst camera ever. I have ordered a better one but won’t arrive until the end of the month, sadly.

If you also have a new youtube channel maybe we could follow each other or give each other shoutouts, or stuff like that. Just write to me in the comments if that is something you would be interested in.

Product Empties & Would I Repurchase?

I have a few products I’ve recently gotten to the bottom of, so why not share my opinion on them with the world?

IMG_4224

First up, we’ve got The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Blemish Gel. I love pretty much everything in their  Tea Tree range. Tea Tree oil is like a miracle oil when it comes to fighting blemishes. I swear by it. This one is a spot treatment, you just take a bit of product on the applicator and put it on the blemishes. In a day or two, I promise the blemish will be gone. I love it, and it is so worth the money. I will surely repurchase this.

IMG_4229

We then have the Garnier Miracle Skin Cream. I talked about this a teeny tiny bit in my What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag? post.

This claims to be “Anti-Ageing” and to be a “Skin Transforming Care”. I’ll be honest with you guys: It’s not either of those. As a skin cream, this is not good at all. It doesn’t make me break out or anything like that, it’s just simply not doing anything at all. I kind of like it as a pre-makeup base, but nothing else. And if the only use I have for it is to use pre-makeup, I might as well use other moisturizers I like more (like my L’Oreal Triple Active Day Cream).

Another thing, it doesn’t say anywhere on the packaging that it’s tinted, but it is! I don’t mind too much, but I like to know what I’m getting when I’m buying a product. It also leaves a weird film on the skin if you let it sit for too long before going in with your makeup. A really weird skincare product I will certainly not repurchase.

IMG_4217

As I mentioned in my England Drugstore Haul pt 1, I was completely out of Carmex. And as you could also see in that haul, I’ve already repurchased. This is the best lip balm ever, everyone with dry lips needs this in their life. Since then I have lost this though (somehow it got lost in my hotel room during a trip to Gothenburg) so I’ll have to repurchase this again. A little annoying, but whatever. I cannot live without this. Definitely a holy grail product.

IMG_4226

I’m also out of my Wet n Wild Coverall Primer. I like this primer quite a lot, and sometimes I reach for this over my more high end primers. And for the price, you just can’t say no. This will be repurchased.

IMG_4228

In my England Drugstore Makeup Haul pt 2 I mentioned that I bought 3 new Collection Lasting Perfection concealers. This is just… it’s amazing. I love this more than any other concealer (okay, shared 1st place with my Mac Pro Longwear). I’ve already repurchased. With backups.

IMG_4219

This is no longer available, which is actually quite sad because I liked this a lot. It is the Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation. This had a nice coverage while it was still lightweight. I really liked this. Bring it back, Max Factor!

IMG_4218

Next up is the Sephora Vanilla Moisturizing Body Lotion. This got exactly what I need in a body lotion: quick absorbing, smells nice, and makes your skin feel nice and moisturized after just one use. I’ve gone through at least 5 of these, and will probably go through many more. A definite repurchase.

IMG_4223

This is Natuvive’s Almond Strengthening Night Cream. I do like this, but it was very thick and oily. For me, who has normal to combination (sometimes oily) skin, I don’t need that thick of a moisturizer. Even at nighttime. This is probably really nice for someone with dry skin, but I will not repurchase.

IMG_4221

I’ve used this  Formula 10.0.6? scrub for a few months now. I really love this for removing dead skin and make the face look much more refreshed. Using this roughly two times a week makes my pores look a lot less noticeable. I’ll definitely repurchase this.

Also, this was the first Formula 10.0.6 product I’ve ever used. After getting such good results with this one, I’ll most surely try more products from this brand (in fact, I’ve already placed an order online on a few stuff I’d like to try. So exctied!).

IMG_4227

I’ve also recently gone through my second tube of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. This is the very best mascara in the world! Obviously, this will be repurchased.

IMG_4220

I’ve used this Lee Stafford Argan Oil on and off for about two years. Sometimes I feel like it can make my hair look greasy and dirty, but other times I feel like it makes my hair look more healthy and shiny. I don’t know, sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it. I’ll probably end up repurchasing it, but right now I’m trying out my Orofluido Beauty Elixir, so I’m not exactly in the need of a hair oil at the moment.

This isn’t exactly a product empties, but I need to get rid of these because they are starting to look disgusting. So why not include them? They’re false lashes in the styles Vanessa and Cleopatra from the Swedish brand Depend. Depend is a drugstore brand, and they make very cheap products, which you kind of notice on the quality of these. They look okay, but I find them quite hard to apply. They don’t really want to stay on your lid, no matter how good of a lash glue you use. But as I said, they’re quite cheap and once they’re on they look alright. Good for someone who might not be the biggest false lash junkie and just want something cheap for a special occasion. I haven’t decided if I’ll repurchase or not, actually.

Aaaand that was it for this post. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed.

Ps, I’m sorry my July favorites isn’t up yet. I just haven’t had the time to take photos and write a post (this one was already written and in my drafts, waiting to be published). But I’ll try to get it up before the weekend. 🙂

Primark Makeup Haul & Review pt 2

I’m just gonna go ahead and dive straight into this post, alright? This part of the haul will be all lip products!

If you haven’t read the first part, go ahead and do that here.

First we’ve got their normal lipsticks. I have bought lipsticks from Primark before when they had their old formulation (which I liked better than this one) but these where nice as well. They sit well on the lips and last a good amount of time, at least for the price. The one I like most out of these ones has to be the 03 Rosewood Mauve. I would definitely recommend these lipsticks to anyone. The shades shown above, in order left to right on the 2nd picture, are: 01 Desert Sand, 03 Rosewood Mauve, 07 Wine, and 02 Candy Pink.

Their lipliners didn’t have any names, but here’s how they look. They all glide on smoothly and stay put. All the colours are nice and simple, staples in every makeup collection. For someone who doesn’t have many lipliners and are just starting out with makeup, these are perfect. They also had a clear one, their “universal” lipliner. This one didn’t really feel like a lipliner, but more like a lip primer. It provided a somewhat sticky base for the lipstick to hang on to, which was really nice.

I got their Velvet Matte Lip Crayons in 4 shades. In order left to right on the 2nd picture, the shades are: D. Purple, Blush, Brown, and Nude. Let me just say W O W, these are amazing. They really do feel and look like matte velvet on your lips, they last a long time, they don’t feel drying… They’re just amazing. My favorite shade out of these four is Blush, it looks soooo pretty on the lips. I’m obsessed!

Next up we have their High Colour Lip Crayons. These are, as opposed to the Velvet Matte ones, very creamy and shiny. The pigmentation in most of these are great, except for the mint green one that comes off as a thin minty, chalky layer on your lip. I won’t be using that one. The lilac and light nude ones looks a bit like that as well, but gets better the more you but on. From left to right on the 2nd picture, the shades are: 01 Natural, 02 Peach, 03 Mint, 04 Lilac, 06 Energy, 07 Motivation, 08 Freedom, and lastly 09 Passion. My personal favorites are 08 Freedom and 09 Passion.

Now we’ve gotten to the end of this haul: lipglosses. Usually I’m not a gloss girl, I much prefer a matte lip, but I couldn’t resist these babies. The first glosses are the double pack called Bronze, from their summer line with the same name. The lighter one did nothing. It barely even added a bit of glossiness to my lips. As you can see on the picture with swatches, it’s barely even there. But the reason I bought this set wasn’t for that gloss, it was for the bronze-y one. As you could read in my June Favorites 2016, I’ve been really into a bronze lip lately. And holy moly, this is so nice! It’s pigmented, it’s glossy, it isn’t too sticky… what more could you ask for?

The second gloss I got was one from their Pro-range. It is their Ultra Shine Lipgloss in the shade Supermodel Nude. I really like this shade, but I can’t say much more about this as I haven’t worn it. I’ve only swatched it on my lips. It looked nice, glossy, and pigmented. We’ll see how I like it after I’ve actually worn it.

The last gloss I got is from their Galactic line, and it is the Galactic Holographic Lip Gloss. This is… well it is one of a kind. I like it, but it is definitely not a product for everyday use. The gloss itself has a hint of purple, with purple shimmers in it. When you put it on it looks slightly like you just have a sheer layer of purple on. But once the sun hits the gloss, it looks shiny and purple. I actually don’t know how to explain it, but it is super cool and I just had to have it.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it.

Primark Makeup Haul & Review pt 1

You can’t go to England without taking at least one trip to Primark, now can you? Primark recently relaunched their makeup line PS… and their more expensive line (if you can even call 1-2 pounds more per product”expensive”) PS… Pro. I bought most of these things in the beginning of my week in England, so I’ve had a fair chance to try all of them and formed an opinion on them. I will probably split this up into two parts just like my England Drugstore Makeup Haul pt 1 & pt2.

So, let’s just dive right into it!

Let’s start with the makeup tools I got. I haven’t tried these exact sponges yet, but I have tried their beauty sponges before and I think they are quite good (I used one by them for a few months last year). This time I got the set with the green and the orange ones. And I’ve been dying to try the original mini beauty blenders, so I got these to test before I spend lots of money on the “real” ones.

They also just recently came out with oval brushes from their Pro-range. I really wanted the large one, but that one was sold out so I got the medium one instead. I’m still just testing this out, but so far it is okay. You can’t use it in circular motions like most oval brushes because of the quality (it leaves ugly streaks on your face. You know what I’m talking about?). Neither do I know exactly what to use this for yet. So far I’ve only used it to blend out my concealer, but maybe it works better for something else?

I also got three brushes from their regular range. First of all, oh my god just look at them! Rose gold! And the eyelash curler is rose gold as well. How beautiful? Anyway… These brushes are actually good, the price considered. They pick up tonnes of product. You’d think that is a good thing, but it is so hard to tap product off of these brushes. So if you aren’t careful you could easily end up with clown cheeks or way too much eyeshadow. The different brushes I got were the Tapered Blush Brush, the Stippling Brush, and the Eye Contour Brush. The eyelash curler is really nice. It curls my lashes like a dream. But they don’t stay like that all day. Don’t know if that is because of the curler or the mascara though.

My nose is in a constant need of a good pore stripping, so of course I had to get these nose pore strips. In one pack for 1 pound you get 4 small packs with nose strips. You wet your nose, then put it on, let it work for around 10 minutes, then ta-da! Well… not really. To be fair, it did remove some of my blackheads and poremasks, but most of them were kind of weirdly half-pulled out which just made them more visible. Super odd.

The hand cream works great, actually. And it smells just like chocolate! I liked it more than I thought I would, if I’m honest. It’s nice to just throw in your handbag, and it isn’t too heavy on the skin which I like. It’s never nice to have a thick hand cream on during the day and feel like you can’t touch anything without getting hand cream all over it. But this one sinks in quickly and works well.

The lip scrub is… well… it’s okay. Not good, but not bad. It smells very nice, at least. But on my lips they feel a bit more like a lip balm than a scrub, if I’m honest. I like it when scrubs aren’t too gentle, like this one is. But if you’re sensitive and, as opposed to me, actually want something gentle, this might be right up your alley.

I’ve tried both their false lashes and nails before and quite liked both of them, so I stocked up a bit. I don’t use false nails that often, so these 8 sets will probably last me a while.

I do already have the Sultry lashes from Primark, and their individual ones, and I really like them. They look nice and are easy to apply. The only thing I don’t like is the glue, but that’s easily fixed by just using your normal eyelash glue. Either way, I got every other style they had. I haven’t tried them on yet, but just from looking at them I reckon I’ll like the Full Look or the Natural ones the most.

IMG_4253

Shades, from left to right: Ice Queen, Frosted Candy, Make Me Blush. £1 for the matte ones, 0.80 for the normal one.

I got a few nail polishes as well. I haven’t tried them before so I actually have no clue if they’re good yet. I painted on the Frosted Candy shade today and so far it looks nice and it haven’t chipped yet but we’ll see.

I got two matte ones, and one regular. But… the “matte” white isn’t matte at all. I think the formula may be the same as the matte ones, but for some reason they’ve added shimmer to it. Like… why add shimmer to a matte polish? I don’t understand at all. It’s still nice, but just not what I thought I was getting.

I had no idea if these would be good or bad, but I purchased them anyway just to try. They had a green redness corrector, and a yellow under eye brightener. I do like the green one a lot more than the yellow one. I can get quite red skin from time to time, and are always on the hunt for a good corrector to cover it. This one did the trick. Not the best one I’ve ever tried, but considering how cheap it is it was definitely worth the money. The yellow one just… doesn’t do much at all, to be honest.

The biggest issue I have with these are that they’re so darn hard to blend out. It doesn’t work with a sponge, brush… it barely works with your finger, even though that’s the best option. The way I get these to blend slightly easier is to put them on right after my primer and blend them into the primer.

They have both cream and powder contours in their range, and as I prefer working with powders I got the powder one. It comes with a little brush, which I’ve been loving for highlighting, not so much for contouring. The palette itself has nice packaging and a nice big mirror. It comes with three shades: a matte highlighting shade, a matte cool brown shade, and a slightly glittery warm red-ish brown shade. The highlighting shade doesn’t work for me at all. It is way to dark for my fair skin. But the other two shades are actually alright. They are a bit powdery and they aren’t too pigmented, but it does look good once you’ve spent some time on it. I especially like the warm brown for contouring and bronzing my forehead. You’d think that colour is too red but it actually isn’t.

I also got their brow pencil, in the darker shade. It comes in two different shades, and has a nice brush on the end. This is actually a re-purchase, I’ve gone through an entire one of these before. I don’t really use brow pencils on a day to day basis, I much prefer brow powders, but they’re nice to have when you’re travelling or are on the go. The only brow pencil I have at the moment is my ABH Brow Wiz, so I thought I’d be nice to get an affordable brow pen as well.

See you for part 2, which will be all lip products!

England Drugstore Haul pt 2

Hi there! Ready for part 2 of my England Drugstore haul? If you haven’t read part 1 yet, you can go ahead and do that first if you’d like.

IMG_4298

First off, I got two different concealers. The first one is the Maybelline Eraser Eye in the shade Light. I swear I’ve heard people call this the Instant Age Rewind or something along those lines on youtube so I don’t know what the deal is with the name. Did they change it? Is it called different things in the UK and US? I don’t know. Anyway… This was the lightest shade I could find (I don’t know if there is a lighter one, in that case it was sold out everywhere I suppose) but on my pale skin it isn’t too brightening, sadly. This is the first time trying this one, and I’ve only heard great things about it before. The hopes were high when trying this for the first time, and it met all of my expectations! It hides everything. Even though the applicator is really unsanitary and will probably get very gross after a while, it is actually very good at distributing the product right under the eye. A+.

The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is my all time favorite, drugstore or high end. My holy grail concealer, for sure. I absolutely love this! But we don’t carry Collection in Sweden, so I felt the need to stock up. I bought three of these, all in the shade 1 Fair. Go try this one, I promise you won’t regret it. It is creamy, full coverage, easy to blend… It is everything.

I got three of the NYX Prismatic Eye Shadows, and two of the Hot Singles Shadows. The ones I got, in order left to right on the 2nd picture: Fireball, Mermaid, Bedroom Eyes, Flustered, Sex Kitten. I love these shadows, especially the prismatic ones. They’re super pigmented and look so good on the lid. Spray some Fix+ on your brush before using these and the pigmentation is unreal. The hot singles are nice and very pigmented as well. When swatching the colour Mermaid it looked really chalky which got me really dissapointed because I love that shade. But once I put it on the lid with a good primer underneath it did look muuuuch better. Super nice for this time of the year, if you ask me.

I bought three of the NYX Vivid Brights eyeliners. First of all, the green one was such a disappointment. It didn’t come out the way it looks on the packaging at all. But the other two I like a lot. I wanted the yellow one as well, but it was sold out. When they dry these sit like a rock and stays put quite some time. I found that the colour started to fade towards the evening though, but that was easily fixed by putting on some more. The shades, in order left to right on the 1st picture: Vivid Envy, Vivid Petal, Vivid Fire.

I got four new blusher palettes from Makeup Revolution. The Sugar And Spice, Blush Queen, and Hot Spice. Sugar and Spice and Hot Spice are quite similar. I do believe it is actually the same formulation, just different shades. Both of them contain 6 matte shades and 2 shimmery shades. I really like the shimmery shades in these as highlighters/blush toppers. The matte shades really vary in quality. Some shades in the palettes are very pigmented and look nice on the skin, while some barely even show up or are chalky. The Blush Queen palette has 8 shimmery shades and no matte ones. Same thing here: the quality really varies. And most of the shades in this one comes out really similar on the skin. And while I don’t regret buying these palettes, but they’re definitely not the best ones I have.

IMG_4323

I also got the NYX Strobe of Genius palette with 7 highlight shades. I like that they have made the ones you’ll probably use most bigger and the ones you’ll only use now and again a bit smaller. These look amazing on the skin. Honestly, this palette is a gift from the highlighting gods. You need this in your life. You could either use one shade on it’s own, or mix two (or more) together to sort of create your own highlight shade. I am 100 % in love,

In my June Favorites 2016 I talked about how I love the Bourjois Bronzing Powder in the shade 51. So naturally I just had to get it in 52 as well. This packaging is the Limited Edition Tropical Festival one, and it just looks soooo nice and summery. This shade is slightly darker than 51, and dare I say I like this one more? It will probably be a bit too dark for my skin during the winter, but at the moment I do like a very bronzed look and this gives me exactly what I crave.

I got four of the new (at least I believe they are new) Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors. The shades I got, in order left to right: Flirtation, Devotion, Addiction, Passion. I love corals for summer, and when I saw the shade Flirtation I just had to have it. After using it I liked it so much I just had to go out and get a few others. These last so well on the lips. I only had to re-apply once during the day. And that was after eating a two course meal. Love, love, love. A big bonus is that they smell like cookie dough.

When walking into the local Superdrug close to my hotel in Brighton I was happy to see they weren’t sold out of the new Tanya Burr Cosmetics Matte Lips. I grabbed one of each shade of them. The shades, in order left to right in the 1st picture: Rhubarb & Custard, Puppy Paws, Martha Moo.  I haven’t done more than swatched these on my lips so I don’t know how they wear, but I really like the shades. And the packaging is sooo nice. Obviously I had to get them all, but I don’t see myself using any other than Martha Moo on a regular basis. This has nothing to do with the colours not looking good though. It’s just my personal preference in what shades I like on myself.

Aaand we’re back to NYX. Told you I went crazy at the NYX counter. First off, I for 5 of the Soft Matte Lip Creams. In the shades, left to right: Zurich, Rome, London, Cannes, Istanbul. These are so insanely comfortable and look crazy good on the lips. I would honestly, without a doubt, recommend these to anyone. They aren’t as liquid-y as your regular liquid lipstick, and doesn’t feel as drying either. As they say, they are more of a lip cream. That being said, they don’t last as long as a liquid lip either.

I also got 3 of the Intense Butter Glosses. In the shades, left to right: Chocolate Crepe, Berry Strudel, Orangesicle. These are super pigmented to be glosses. I haven’t worn any yet though so I don’t know how they wear. But I’ve only heard good things.

This is the last of NYX I got, I swear. And it is 6 of the Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. These do not dry down completely matte like I first thought, but they are nice nonetheless. The shades I got are, in order left to right: 02 Life’s A Beach, 06 Sway, 01 Stone Fox, 05 Orange County, 09 Tea & Cookies, 04 Soft-Spoken. My favorite ones are Stone Fox, because it’s not like anything I own, and Soft-Spoken, because I’m a sucker for brown shades. These aren’t claiming to be liquid lipsticks either, quite like the Soft Matte Lip Creams, but as opposed to those these are very longwearing. Almost to the point where they’re a bit hard to get off (at least the more darker shades).

Last but not least, I got 4 of the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipsticks. I got them in the shades, from left to right: 45, 48, 40, 43. These are very creamy and shiny on the lips. They don’t last too long, but paired with the Lipcote featured in my England Drugstore Haul pt 1, you can wear them for quite a while. My favorite shade is either 45 or 48.

There we go! That was it for this haul. Hope you liked this post, and thank you for reading.

England Drugstore Haul pt 1

As you know from my blog post What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag?, I was recently in England, where they have a lot of brands and products we don’t have in our Swedish drugstores. Of course we can get most of these things online, but it’s a completely different thin to go into the drugstore and see them for real. I got quite a lot, and thought I’d share with you.

Depending on how long this gets, I might split it up into two parts.

IMG_4297

Might as well start with the only skincare/bodycare (is that even a word? I’m not sure, but I’mma use it anyways) item I got. And it is the Soap & Glory Sit Tight Saddlebags +. I haven’t used this long enough to see any real results, but so far I like it. It has a rollerhead which you use to massage the product into your skin, which feels really nice. Massaging it into the skin also helps with blood circulation and reducing the appearance of things like cellulite, so that’s always a plus. The product itself smells very nice, but I don’t quite know how to describe it. I suppose I would call it minty yet sweet at the same time… The smell also reminds me of something but I can’t for the love of me figure out what.

On the back it warns that you might get a cooling/warm sensation after applying it, and holy moly are they right! When I first applied it I was like “well, this doesn’t feel warm or cooling at all”. But after having it sink into the skin for about 2 minutes the “cooling/hot sensation” hit me hard, and lasted for like 30 minutes. I don’t mind it, but I can imagine some people will really dislike that feeling. It feels like that tingly feeling you get with a really strong lip plumper, but all over your body instead of just on your lips. And as I said, I do like that, but some people don’t.

IMG_4309

I’ve gotten to the end of my beloved Carmex Lip Balm, so naturally I had to get a new one. This specific one I got at Primark for only 2 pounds! I don’t know the price of Carmex in your country, but here in Sweden it is a bit more expensive. Still a budget product, but certainly not 2 pounds. A real bargain, if you ask me.

IMG_4313

I also got this Lipcote, which has no other name on it so I’m just gonna go ahead and assume both the company’s name and the product are called Lipcote, okay? Okay. This is, as you might guess, a liquid you put over your lipstick as a coat to make it last longer. And it does make your lipstick last much longer (at least creamy lipsticks, I haven’t felt the need to try it on longwearing matte ones or liquid lipsticks). But it does makes your lips feel a bit more sticky than they would’ve with just the lipstick. It feels a bit like you’re wearing a bad, sticky gloss. Also, it does smell like nailpolish, which isn’t exactly something you would want to put on your lips. The smell fades away quickly after you put it on, so for me that is something I can see past. It also makes your lips tingle a little bit. Which – as you know – I don’t mind. But if you’re sensitive to those kinds of things, or dislike really strong smells, stay away from this one. If you don’t mind, go ahead and try it. I do believe it was only 3 pounds at Primark, so if you’re interested in trying I’d say go for it.

IMG_4296

I also did get two brushes from Makeup Revolution‘s Ultra Metals line. First off, I hate when companies do that thing when they don’t put the name of the brush on the actual brush! It’s so annoying. But I did save the packaging it came in, so I’d know what the brushes were called when writing this post. And the brushes I got are the Ultra Sculpt Blush, and the Ultra Flat Contour. First of all just look at how beautiful they are! Don’t you just feel like running out to your closest drugstore to get them?! But also, they are really nice. I’ve only used them a couple of times, but so far so good. My favorite out of the two is the contour brush, it gives a nice crisp contour. The other one is nice too, but I haven’t quite figured out exactly what to use it for to get the best results out of it yet. If you have it, please let me know what you most like to use it for. I’m really curious.

IMG_4294

I also got a few false lashes. Two of them are from GWA (Girls With Attitude), and one from iENVY. The styles I got were Notice Me and Tempt Me from GWA, and from iENVY I got the 02 Juicy Volume ones.  I’ve never tried lashes from either of these companies before, so I’m excited to try them out. The Tempt Me lashes in particular look like something I would really like. And I don’t own any lashes that look anything like the iENVY ones, where the inner half is thinner and the outer half is thicker. I’m dying to see how those look on the eye.

IMG_4303

In Sweden we can only get NYX online (well, I do believe we have one NYX store in Sweden… but if you don’t live near that one you can only get it online), so when I got to the actual physical NYX counter I went a little bit bananas, as you might notice more and more the longer you read this haul. Actually, you’ll probably notice it more in part 2.

Anyways, the first thing I got is the Angel Veil primer. I’ve only used this like 3 times so I’ll definitely have to use it more to be able to give a better opinion on it. But so far it’s kind of… meh. Not that it’s bad. Not at all. It just wasn’t what I had been expecting. After reading reviews on it online I had hyped this up to be like the best drugstore primer ever, which it surely wasn’t. It’s good, just not what I had in mind.

If you read my June Favorites 2016 post you know I’m currently in love with the Rimmel Good to Glow highlighter in 001 Notting Hill glow. In that same post I also talked about how I needed to get my hands on the other two. Said and done, I got them both. The peachy one is 002 Piccadilly Glow, and the brown/bronze one is 003 Soho Glow. My favorite out of these two has got to be the Soho Glow, but I like both of them. Perfect for when you want to create that nice dewy, glowy look during the summer.

I also got a few foundations I had heard are good. The first one is the Revlon Colorstay foundation for Normal/Dry skin (mine is in the shade 150 Buff). First of all, my skin is normal to combination, sometimes oily. But never really dry. But I didn’t find any that were for oily skin, so I got this one. I don’t even know if they make this formula for oily skin, or if this is the only one. However it is waterbased, which usually is really good for a somewhat oily skin. It claims to last 24 hours. I don’t know about that, but it does last a good amount of time on the skin without looking bad, which I can’t really say about too many drugstore foundations I’ve tried. I really like this one. And it does have spf 20, which is so good now that it’s summer.

The second one is the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I do already own this one in the shade 010 Light Porcelain. The reason I got it in this shade (100 Ivory) is because the other one is slightly too pink-toned for my taste. I can make it work, but I do believe this shade will be a bit nicer.

The third one is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the shade 51 Light Vanilla. This one is for sure my favorite out of these four. It looks flawless on the skin, has a light coverage (I needed a light coverage foundation, I barely have any as I always go for the fuller coverage ones), and stays looking good all day long. It also smells really nice and fruity, which is always a bonus. For sure one of the best drugstore foundations I’ve tried. I do also want to try the Healthy Mix Foundation, as I’ve heard it is fuller coverage. But from what I’ve gathered most people either like one or the other. No one I’ve ever come across likes both. So we’ll see.

I got the Rimmel Match Perfection in the shade 010 Light Porcelain. Now, the Wake Me Up in that shade is waaay more pink-based than this one. Like… Why? It’s from the same brand, shouldn’t the shades be the same in different foundations? I don’t get it. Either way, it’s a nice foundation. Not the best, but it’s okay. It does last quite a long time, probably longer than the Wake Me Up. But I do not like the feel or the finish of this as much as the Wake Me Up.

This is, as suspected, getting quite long so I’ll have to split it up into two parts. The second one will be up soon, I promise.

Makeup & Beauty Haul part 1

Over the past month or so I’ve bought and received a few new items. Most of them I’ve gotten a fair chance of trying out and made myself an opinion on by now. So I thought I might as well share my thoughts with you. Especially since it was such a long time since I made my last post. Yikes, I really have to get better at updating.

Let’s just dive in, shall we? First of all I got the Cheekathon palette from Benefit. The ones I hadn’t tried before where Rockateur and Dallas, but so far I like them both a lot. I also like the nice big mirror and the little you get with it. Makes it perfect for travel. (I know some people prefer smaller sized packaging to travel with, but for me it doesn’t matter as long as I have everything I need).

I also got two sample sizes of the Make Up Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizers – the mattifying one and the redness correcting one. And so far… I’m not a fan. Sorry. But I do like the green one a lot more than the other.

The mattifying one just seems to make my foundation go on patchy. And yes, I have tried with different foundations, to make sure it wasn’t actually just the foundation that was bad. I have to try it a few more times before I make up my mind, but so far it’s just a big N O.

The green one is okay though. It doesn’t correct redness a much as I would want it to, but it’s still an okay primer.

I re-purchased the Make Up Forever IMG_3492Ultra HD foundation (mine is in the shade Y235) which is amazing. I will love this foundation until my dying day.

I also got the Too Faced Born This Way foundation (mine is in the shade Vanilla). At first I didn’t like this at all, because I thought it was patchy and hard to blend. I then realized it was my primer ruining my face (yes, the primer above) and not this foundation. Except the fact that it oxidizes sliiightly I do like it. It’s just a little too dark for me at the moment, so I’m mixing it with a lighter foundation to make it my perfect shade until I get a tan.

IMG_3485I decided to give the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer (mine is in the shade Chantilly) another go. I tried it a while back, and didn’t like it at all. But since there is such a hype around this, I just had to try it again.

But no, I don’t like this product. I just find that it doesn’t cover anything. But I’m not willing to give up on it just yet, so I’m going to buy it in a better shade and try again soon.

Finally I got the ABH Brow Wiz IMG_3487(mine is in the shade Auburn)! Man, I don’t know why it took me so long to get this. I love it, and wish I’d gotten it much sooner. This makes doing my brows so quick and easy. I just… I’m in love. Not much else to say, is there?

IMG_3500I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect coral lipstick for summer for a few weeks now. And my eyes fell on this YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick in nr. 30 it was love at first sight. Not only is this formula amazing, but the shade is too-die-for. Usually I’m a matte lipstick kind of gal, preferably in deep colors, but this sheer, glossy formula just feels so right for the summertime. Can’t wait to wear this to the beach.

That was it for part 1, part 2 will be up sometime this weekend.
